Family Sponsored Scheme

Designed to keep families together, this scheme allows Singapore Citizens (SC) and Permanent Residents (PR) to sponsor their immediate family members. Applications are evaluated primarily on the sponsor's credentials and their financial capacity to support the applicants in Singapore.

Eligibility Criteria

Eligible Sponsors: Singapore Citizen or PR

You must be sponsored by an SC or PR if you hold one of the following passes:

  • Dependant Pass (DP)
  • Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP) or LTVP+
  • Work Permit (WP) — Subject to marriage conditions
  • Spouse of a Singapore Citizen or PR
  • Unmarried child (under 21 years old) born within a legal marriage to, or legally adopted by, an SC or PR

Eligible Sponsors: Singapore Citizen ONLY

  • Aged parent of a Singapore Citizen

Professionals, Technical Personnel & Skilled Workers (PTS)

The PTS scheme is the most common pathway for foreign professionals actively contributing to Singapore's economy. If you are currently working in Singapore under a qualifying work pass, you can apply for Permanent Residency independently, and concurrently sponsor your spouse and unmarried children.

Eligibility Criteria

Self-Application Qualifying Passes

You are eligible to apply on your own merit if you currently hold any of the following passes:

  • Employment Pass (EP)
  • Personalized Employment Pass (PEP)
  • Entrepreneur Pass (EntrePass)
  • S Pass
  • Student Pass (See specific student criteria below)

Note: Work Permit (WP) holders cannot apply under the PTS scheme on their own merit and must be sponsored by a Singaporean/PR spouse.

Global Investor Programme (GIP)

Administered by Contact Singapore (a division of the EDB), the GIP scheme fast-tracks Permanent Residency for highly accomplished global business owners, entrepreneurs, and investors who are committed to driving economic growth and innovation within Singapore.

Eligibility & Investment Options

Option A: Direct Business Investment

Invest a minimum of S$10 million in a new business entity or expanding an existing business operation in Singapore.

Option B: GIP Fund Investment

Invest a minimum of S$25 million in a GIP-select fund that invests primarily in Singapore-based companies.

Minimum Entrepreneurial Track Record

  • Possess at least a 3-year proven entrepreneurial and business track record (audited financials required).
  • Company turnover of at least S$200 million in the year preceding the application, and an average of S$200 million per annum over the last 3 years.
  • Hold a minimum of 30% shareholding if the company is privately held.

Foreign Artistic Talent (ForArts)

Jointly administered by the National Arts Council (NAC) and the ICA, the ForArts Scheme recognizes outstanding international arts professionals. It is designed for creative individuals who can significantly advance Singapore’s arts and cultural landscape through deep community engagement and diverse expertise.

Mandatory Criteria

You must meet ALL of the following:

  • Possess relevant formal training or education in your specific field of artistic practice.
  • Demonstrate extensive professional experience with outstanding, recognized achievements in Performing Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts, Design, or Media.
  • Have already made significant contributions to Singapore's arts and cultural scene, including a strong track record of local engagements at a leadership level.
  • Provide concrete, actionable future plans for continued involvement and contribution to Singapore’s arts and cultural sector.

Foreign Student Scheme

Singapore actively encourages bright young minds to plant roots. Foreign students currently studying in Singapore can apply for Permanent Residency on their own merit, provided they meet specific academic and residency milestones.

Eligibility Criteria

You can self-apply if you fulfill both:

  • You have physically resided and studied in Singapore for more than two (2) years at the point of application.
  • You have passed at least one national examination (e.g., PSLE, GCE N/O/A levels) OR are currently enrolled in the Integrated Programme (IP).
